September in Mallorca

Why September is one of our favourite months at La Finca

There is a certain moment in Mallorca when summer begins to soften, and for us, that moment is September.

The island is still warm and unmistakably Mediterranean. The sea has held onto the heat of August, the days are long, the evenings are golden, and the landscape still feels completely alive. Yet the intensity of high summer has started to disappear. The beaches are quieter, the roads feel calmer and there is suddenly more space to enjoy Mallorca exactly as we love it.

For us, September is when Mallorca becomes particularly beautiful.

And there is no better way to experience it than from La Finca.

Our perfect September day:

Breakfast outside, surrounded by greenery, followed by a morning swim in the saltwater pool while the island is still quiet.

For a wonderful day, we would book a private boat and spend the afternoon exploring Mallorca from the water. There is something incomparable about leaving the harbour behind, finding a secluded cala, diving straight into the turquoise Mediterranean and enjoying lunch on board while the coastline passes by.

Alternatively, choose one of Mallorca's beautiful beaches that are a 30min drive from La Finca: Cala Agulla, Cala Mesquida or Playa de Muro are wonderful choices, while a day at the beach club NU Mallorca brings together the sea, beautiful food and great vibes.

Mallorcas best restaurants:

Mallorca's culinary scene has become extraordinary, from elegant Michelin-starred restaurants to intimate countryside restaurants where local produce takes centre stage. For a special evening, we love the idea of dressing up and making dinner part of the experience, perhaps at Sa Pleta by Marc Fosh, before returning to the tranquillity of La Finca.

The luxury of coming home

This is what makes La Finca so special.

After a day of swimming, sailing, exploring or dining, you return to somewhere that feels completely private and peaceful.

There is no hotel lobby, no schedule and no need to share the last hours of the day with anyone else.

Perhaps you take another swim as the sun begins to set. Maybe you open a bottle of wine and sit outside with something fresh from the garden. Or perhaps you simply let the evening unfold around you, watching the light move across the Tramuntana landscape.

For us, this is a very particular kind of luxury.

Mallorca beyond the beach

September is also the perfect time to rediscover the island beyond its coastline.

Take the winding roads through the Tramuntana mountains, spend an afternoon wandering through Sóller or Deià, visit one of Mallorca's vineyards or head into Palma for architecture, galleries, shopping and a long lunch.

And because La Finca gives you your own private space to return to, you never feel as though you have to choose between discovering Mallorca and retreating from it.

Come for Mallorca. Stay for the way it feels at La Finca.
